Wordfringe, now operating under the name North East Writers,
aims to support, promote and coordinate the practice of literature in North-East
Scotland. We work in partnership with writers, publishers, venues and writers' groups
to organise and present the New Words festival in September and other
literary activities throughout the year.
We aim to raise awareness of our own and other organisations' events and activities
through the provision of high quality publicity including websites, Facebook, Twitter
and email feeds.
In order to carry out these functions we rely very much on the work of enthusiastic
volunteers. We normally hold combined committee and planning meetings once a month
in Aberdeen to keep everyone up to date. Sub-groups working on specific projects
meet as and when necessary, though much communication is done electronically as
we cover such a wide geographical area.
If you are passionate about new writing in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, whether as
a reader or listener, writer or performer, individual or member of an organisation,
please come along to the AGM and consider getting involved. You will be most welcome!
